More than worth the price

This tool is 27 cm long (11 inches) - 15 cm of that is the handle and 12 cm is the blade. The handle is very strong and I’m sure could cope with some hard graft. The handle is easy to grip for large or small hands. The blade is sharp on the two straight edges. I would say that the blade is 2 mm thick.I did a video of how easy it was to remove a mossy weed from a paving stone. It took hardly any effort at all especially since the weed was frozen. It also comes with a plastic wallet to protect the blade end from damage. I thought it was made of stainless steel but it is actually made of Japanese SK5 steel according to the description. For the price of £14.99, this is more than worth the price and it will become a main stay in the garden tool

Is It Upside-Down?

I've had a very basic pound-shop patio weed-grubber for a while, which works, can be sharpened, and is as simple as they come. Seeing this model from Kimura, I thought it was time I upgraded. These knives are really for one job for me - raking out the weed-growth in between patio flags and the like - and the hooked blade is perfect for it. So, it's down to operator comfort and this moulded handle is a welcome step up. It sits in the hand nicely, has enough texture to not slip around in use, even with a glove on, the blade is sharp out of the protective sheath, which has a press-stud so it can be reused.I have one head-scratching complaint and I had thought it may just be on my particular tool, but the listing photos show it that way also: When holding it so the thumb fits nicely into the moulded rest, the blade is upside down. The hook should face down, not up. It can flipped around, but then the moulding doesn't fit the hand quite the way it should. The SK5 high-carbon blade with its chrome plating is sturdy and thick, the cutting edges are sharp enough as supplied and a few strokes of a sharpening stone or a light run on a bench-grinder will have it as menacing as required. I'm wondering if I can get it 'chisel-sharp' to give it other uses.It has a six-inch handle with a useful 12mm hanging hole. I like it. Shame about the odd usability. A big step-up from my cheapo weeder.

Sharp, ergonomic and quality product

This weed killer has very sharp blades and needs to be handled with care. There is a plastic cover on the edges but even with the cover one needs to be careful. It has a very ergonomic handle which is easy to hold and apply force with. The blade is L shaped so that you can cut by pushing from rear or using force sidewise. You can also dig vertically and pull weeds. The tool feels very sturdy to use. I am bit confused on the arc shape though.I could not figure out what it is for. The arc is blunt so not for cutting weeds. I wonder why the arc did not have sharp blade, because it it were the case, you could pull it towards you to cut weeds on that direction as well. May be they thought it would be safe to pull the knife towards the body rather than pushing it away from body. It came with no instruction so I could not clarify my doubt. Please be aware that only an adult can receive this delivery. It claims lifetime warranty, not sure what that really means. I have used it to remove few weeds and it worked well, though I missed not being able to pull it towards me as arc is not bladed.

Being a keen Gardner and handy on the tools I’m always looking for new ones to try out, I decided to try this weed removal tool from Kimura. What a fantastic handy tool this is to have, as soon as you pick it up you can feel the quality of the tool in your hand, it is the perfect size to do a variety of versatile jobs in the garden and is clearly designed to work in tight spaces, the blade itself is very strong and boasts being made of reinforced steel, it has multiple angle points for various different jobs and is VERY sharp in places for cutting through foliage so please be very careful. The rubber grip handle is reassuring as it does not slip out of your hand while usingWhat I like most about this product is that it comes with a lifetime warranty, not many tools offer this! Also comes with a plastic cover case for the blade when not in use.Highly recommend this brilliant little tool. Thanks

Ideal tool for the task.

I am delighted with this tool. I have cleared a 5m x 5m patio in an afternoon, and the tool made the task so much easier. The handle is easy to grip in a gloved hand, and in addition to the hook there are two sharp edges for cutting through stems: I also used the blades for cutting back where the lawn was creeping over the edge of the patio. This single tool made the whole job much easier and faster, and with less strain on my hands. The tool itself stood up very well to the task, with just a little superficial scratching, but the blade is still firmly set in the handle and it’s ready for the next time. Highly recommended.

A replacement tool for a loved favourite which did not disappoint. Strong sturdy handle and really sharp cutting blade. Does an excellent job. Good value for money.

A well made shiny gardening tool.

A flashy and shiny gardening tool that does what it is supposed to but the rubber handle appears to have been put on the wrong way round. When using it to remove weeds from between paving stones the thumb indentation is in the wrong place making it tiring to use. But having said that, it does a good job.

Great tool for weeding cracks and tight spaces

Kimra Pro Weed Removal Tool, Japanese SK5 Steel. Non slip rubberised handle.Good quality, well made. Except for the shape of the handle, for someone with big hands (palms 5" across, a span of 10"). When using the blade to cut weeds it's fine, but when using the hook the shape of the handle is uncomfortable. After prolonged use I would get a blister unless I wear cushioned gloves. The blade can be sharpened after it has been used/dulled. The handle is textured to stop the tool from slipping in use, it does this quite well.It is a good size overall, you don't want a tool like this to be too long for ease of use. Overall length is 27cm, length of blade is 11.5cm by 6.8cm wide at the end, with 5cm x 5cm sharpened parts at right angles. See pictures in the listing.I was using a draw hoe before I got this. This tool is easier to use. For getting weeds out of tight spaces and crevices. It comes with a clip on blade protector made from clear plastic.
