Solid, powerful and versatile staple gunThis is a substantial, well-made staple gun that feels reassuringly robust in the hand. It's quite weighty, but not excessively so, and feels considerably better built than cheaper staple guns I've used. One of its biggest advantages is versatility. It accepts six different types of staples and brads, so it's useful for everything from upholstery and crafts to general household DIY and attaching materials to timber. The power is adjustable too, allowing you to alter the force depending on the material you're working with. It's powerful enough to drive staples cleanly into wood, and I like that it comes with 500 assorted staples in five different types, so you can actually experiment with the different options straight out of the package. Loading is fairly straightforward once you've worked out how the staples sit, although the instructions could be clearer about which type is best suited to which job.It does require a reasonable amount of hand strength to operate, particularly at higher power settings, so that's worth bearing in mind.At £19.99, though, I think it's very good value. Interestingly, several earlier reviewers considered it expensive when it was selling for around £50. At less than half that price, the solid construction, versatility and included selection of staples make it much easier to recommend.
